Select Extra Cross™ Style Ball Point Refills

This Slimline pen & pencil set, handmade using Black Walnut & Padauk Wood with 24kt Gold trim, sleek, refined design makes it an exceptionally popular gift that never goes out of style. I use "Private Reserve" Cross Style Refills, in my opinion the best ink available, and you must choose either black or blue ink.

The wood is turned on a lathe, sanded and finished with four coats of polish, all by hand. This creates a beautiful shine that brings out the natural beauty of the wood. It is a water proof, high gloss finish that is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying. Over time, the oils from your hand will enhance the finish and the wood may darken.

I use no type of duplicating equipment, therefore, even with like woods, no two pens will be identical. This pen set is truly one of a kind.

The 24kt gold uses a "premium rack plating" process and is covered with an epoxy coating for extreme durability. Its beauty and durability has a lifetime guarantee or your money back.

WALNUT WOOD:

Juglans is a plant genus of the family Juglandaceae, the seeds of which are known as Walnuts. The 21 species in the genus range across the north temperate Old World from southeast Europe east to Japan, and more widely in the New World from southeast Canada west to California and south to Argentina. The trivial name walnut derives from Old English wealhhnutu, literally ‘foreign nut,’ with wealh meaning ‘foreign.’ The walnut was so called because it was introduced from Gaul and Italy. The Latin name for the Walnut was nux Gallica, Gallic nut.

The two most commercially important species are Juglans Regia for timber and nuts, and Juglans Nigra for timber. Both species have similar cultivation Requirements and are widely grown in temperate zones.

The common walnut and black walnut and it’s allies, are important for their attractive timber, which is hard, dense tight-grained and polishes to a very smooth finish. The color ranges from creamy white in the sapwood to a dark chocolate color in the heartwood. When kiln-dried, walnut wood tends toward a dull brown color, but when air-dried can become a rich purplish-brown. Because of it’s color, hardness and grain, it is a prized furniture and carving wood. Walnut burls are commonly used to create bowls and other turned pieces. Walnut wood has been the timber of choice for gun makers for centuries.

PADAUK WOOD:

This elegant orange brown hardwood tree is found primarily in central and tropical West Africa in areas extending from south-western Nigeria to Zaire. it often grows in small groups and is common in dense equatorial rain forests. It is also known as Mve, Mbil, Mututi, Ngula, and Bosulu.

The Padauk tree is quite large and grows to heights of 100 to 130 feet, clear of branches to 70 feet, and has a trunk diameters from 24 to 60 inches.

Padauk possesses excellent weathering properties and will last for more than 25 years in contact with the ground without any preservative treatments.
