Impress your colleagues with an elegant handmade reproduction of a very popular Classic American Parker 1920's pen design.  The Pen, for those that prefer a larger pen,  features a large 3/8" large lower body and a 1/2" diameter upper body.

The wood is turned on a lathe, sanded and finished with four coats of polish, all by hand. This creates a beautiful shine that brings out the natural beauty of the wood.  It is a water proof, high gloss finish that is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying. Over time, the oils from your hand will enhance the finish and the wood may darken.

No duplicating equipment is used in my work, therefore, even with like woods, no two Pens will be identical. This Pen is truly one of a kind.

The pictures in this listing are of the item that you will receive.

Satin series pens undergo a special plating process that produces a matte finish that features a slight texture that looks and feels great. This popular plating offers a unique alternative to traditional plating.

White Limba:

White Limba (Terminalia Superba) is a large tree in the family Combreataceae, native to tropical western Africa. It grows up to 60 meters tall, with a domed or flat crown, and a trunk typically clear of branches for much of its height, buttressed at the base. The leaves are 10 cm long and 5 cm broad, and are deciduous in the dry season (November to February). The flowers are produced at the end of the dry season just before the new leaves; they are small and whitish, growing in loose spikes 10-12 cm long. The fruit is a samara with two wings.

The wood is either a light (White Limba) or with dark stripes (Black Limba or Korina) hardwood. Used for making furniture and musical instruments and prized for its workability and excellent color and finish. The most famous example of its use in guitars is when it was used by Gibson in producing their now highly sought-after Flying V and Explorer guitars in 1958. When finished in a clear coat, White Limba results in an attractive light golden color.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not rare and expensive due to overharvesting and there is plenty of supply due to efforts in the 1950’s to preserve natural supply of the wood. This species is reported to be relatively secure, with little or no threat to its population within its natural growth range, according to the World Conservation Monitoring Center of 1992.
