This pen, made with Cocobolo Rosewood and 24kt Gold Trim, is a practical pen that makes an ideal gift for your favorite teacher or accountant. One end writes in red, the other black or any other combination you wish. You will love the way this pen feels in your hand as you are writing.

The wood is turned on a lathe, sanded and finished with four coats of polish, all by hand. This creates a beautiful shine that brings out the natural beauty of the wood.  It is a water proof, high gloss finish that is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying. Over time, the oils from your hand will enhance the finish and the wood may darken.

The 24kt gold uses a "premium rack plating" process and is covered with an epoxy coating for extreme durability.  Its beauty and durability has a lifetime guarantee or your money back.

No duplicating equipment is used in my work, therefore, even with like woods, no two Pens will be identical. This Pen is truly one of a kind.

Cocobolo Rosewood:

Cocobolo Rosewood is a tropical hardwood of the tree Dalbergia retusa from Central America. Only the heartwood is used: this is typically orange or reddish-brown in color, often with a figuring of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. The sapwood (not often used) is a creamy yellow, with a sharp boundary with the heartwood. The heartwood is known to change color after being cut, lending to its appeal.

Cocobolo is oily in look and feel. This oil lends a strong, unmistakable floral odor even to well seasoned wood and occasionally stains the hands with prolonged exposure. Standing up well to repeated handling and exposure to water, a common use is in gun grips and knife handles. It is very hard, fine textured and dense, but is easily machined, although due to the abundance of natural oils, the wood tends to clog abrasives and fine-toothed saw blades, like other very hard, very dense tropical woods. Due to its density and hardness, even a large block of the cut wood will produce a clear musical tone if struck. Cocobolo can be polished to a lustrous, glassy finish.
