Teak Wood Cross® style twist pen/stylus with Chrome Trim for ipad ®, iphone®, android.

With this Stylus you can easily take notes, draw or simply turn a page on your device. The durable rubber tip protects the device's surface from scratch and smudges and allows you to type precisely and comfortably. Works on all capacitive touch screen devices; use with the iPhone®, iPad®, iPod Touch® and similar touch screen devises.

This striking Teak Wood Pen/Stylus has a brilliant finish, strong grain and a very unique appearance.

It is turned on a lathe, sanded to a fine finish then polished, all by hand, to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.  It is a water proof, high gloss finish that is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying.  Over time, the oils from your hand will enhance the finish and the wood may darken.

I do not use duplicating equipment in any of my work. Each item is handmade one at a time. Therefore, even with like woods, with their unique and varying grain patterns, no pens will be identical. This pen/stylus is truly one of a kind.

Chrome is an extremely long wearing plating capable of resisting everyday wear and tear.  Highly recommended, chrome gives you a shiny rich look.

TEAK

(Tetona Grandis)
Teak is the common name for the tropical hardwood tree species Tectona Grandis and its wood products.  Tectona Grandis is native to south and southeast Asia, mainly India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Burma, but is naturalized and cultivated in many countries, including those in Africa and the Caribbean.  Burma accounts for nearly one third of the world’s total teak production.  The word teak comes from the Tamil (in the Dravidan region) word thekku.  Teak is used extensively in India to make doors and window frames, furniture and columns and beams in old type houses.  It is very resistant to termite attacks.  Mature teak fetches a very good price.  It is grown extensively by forest departments of different states in forest areas.
Teak is also used extensively in boat decks, as it is extremely durable and requires very little maintenance.  The teak tends to wear in to the softer ‘summer’ growth bands first, forming a natural ‘non-slip’ surface.  Any sanding is therefore only damaging.  Use of modern cleaning compounds, oil or preservatives will shorten the life of the teak, as it contains natural teak-oil a very small distance below the white surface.  Wooden boat experts will only wash the teak with salt water, and re-caulk when needed.  This cleans the deck, and prevents it from drying out and the wood shrinking.  The salt helps it absorb and retain moisture and prevents any mildew and algal growth.
