This Handmade Secret Compartment White Limba Wood & 24kt Gold Key Chain has a built in secret compartment. This gives you the opportunity to hide money, toothpicks, floss, reminder notes and more when you're on the go. So you have access to these secrets wherever and whenever you need them.

The wood on this key chain is turned on a lathe, sanded to a fine finish and polished, to bring out the natural beauty of the wood, all by hand.  It is a water proof, high gloss finish that is non-toxic and non-flammable after drying.  Over time, the oils from your hand will enhance the finish and the wood may darken.

NOTICE:  NO TREES WERE HARMED IN ANY WAY IN THE MAKING OF THIS PRODUCT.  THE WOOD IS HARVESTED FROM THE PRUNING OF TREES.

No duplicating equipment is used in my work, therefore, even with like woods, no two Key Chains will be identical.  This Key Chain is truly one of a kind.

The 24kt gold uses a "premium rack plating" process and is covered with an epoxy coating for extreme durability.  Its beauty and durability has a lifetime guarantee or your money back.

 White Limba Wood:

Terminalia Superba is a large tree in the family Combreataceae, native to tropical western Africa.  It grows up to 60 meters tall, with a domed or flat crown, and a trunk typically clear of branches for much of its height, buttressed at the base.  The leaves are 10 cm long and 5 cm broad, and are deciduous in the dry season (November to February).  The flowers are produced at the end of the dry season just before the new leaves; they are small and whitish, growing in loose spikes 10-12 cm long.  The fruit is a samara with two wings.

The wood is either a light (White Limba) or with dark stripes (Black Limba or Korina) hardwood.  Used for making furniture and musical instruments and prized for its workability and excellent color and finish.  The most famous example of its  use in guitars is when it was used by Gibson in producing their now highly sought-after Flying V and Explorer guitars in 1958.  When finished in a clear coat, White Limba results in an attractive light golden color.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not rare and expensive due to overharvesting and there is plenty of supply due to efforts in the 1950’s to preserve natural supply of the wood.  This species is reported to be relatively secure, with little or no threat to its population within its natural growth range, according to the World Conservation Monitoring Center of 1992.
